72 hrs. in Munich (Zine)

Personal Project
2020
For my first time in Europe, I wanted to be totally unoriginal: go to Italy, look at art, and eat pasta. However, I ended up taking an impromptu trip to Germany, because when your sister is a flight attendant and sets you up for a free trip, you take it. That being said, Munich really blew me away. From the beer gardens, to a Bauhaus retrospective at Pinakothek Der Moderne, the architecture (especially striking as an American), sauerkraut and sausage (of course), castles, river surfing etc.

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to document it with something tangible that I could hold onto. This zine consists of collages using the photos I took, of everything that I witnessed while on this brief trip.

About

I gathered my favorite images out of the 700 I took, and then printed them out on different colored/textured paper. After that I went to town with an X-Acto knife, glue, and scissors. I then re-scanned the collages back into the computer for final touches.

Lastly, the cover design shows snippets of the finished collages, and the 72 circles represent (roughly) each hour I was there.
